For those of you who are still trying to figure out what to do with the cabbage you got on Saturday (or what do do with bok choy), here’s a great summer recipe that makes a perfect side dish for grilling.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
1 head bok choy
1 small red or green cabbage
1/4 cup dijon mustard
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/4 cup roasted garlic rice vinegar
1/2 cup sesame oil
salt
pepper
balsamic vinegar
Whisk the mustard, oil, vinegar, sesame seeds, salt, and pepper together and let stand. Cut the heads of cabbage in half, brush with the balsamic vinegar (allow some vinegar to soak in between the dense layers) and place cabbage on grill to sear and heat through. The bok choy may singe and blacken on the ends, but thats ok. When the cabbage has good grill marks, take it off and cut it into 1/4 inch strips. Using the tongs, mix the hot cabbage in the sauce and serve.
