South Anchorage Farmers' Market WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
Hello All!
I have great news that the South Anchorage Farmers’ Saturday market will continue past its original October 3rd date! It will be depend on the weather, but most of the farmers have been able to extend their growing season which means wonderful produce for us!
The one thing that all the farmers want to say is a big “THANK YOU!” to all who have come out rain or shine. Your support directly impacts their livelihood. Thanks for making the Wednesday market as well as the Saturday market a great success! Remember, the South Anchorage Saturday market will continue for a couple weeks more.
EAGLE RIVER FARMERS’ MARKET

Glacier Valley Farms will be there with their selection of zucchini, carrots, cabbage, beets, tomatoes and broccoli. Bob Shoemaker will also be there bringing lots of greens and lettuce. This Saturday, October 3rd is the last market for the Eagle River location. Be sure to look for them next year!

Glacier Valley Farms will be here at the South market as well with their selection of zucchini, carrots, cabbage, beets, tomatoes and broccoli.
VANDERWEELE FARMS
They will have broccoli, carrots, cabbage, cauliflower, greens, and tons of different lettuce. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Check out their beautiful table of produce.
REMPEL FAMILY FARM
This “sort of” warm weather is welcome. It is allowing us to get in all our late crops: carrots, parsnips, pumpkins, potatoes, and Brussels sprouts to name a few. These are now a bit sweeter due to a couple of light frosts. The “sort of” warm weather is allowing the greens to stay nice as well.
Rempel Family Farm will have nice greens like kale, napa cabbage, lettuces, asian greens, arugula, dill, cilantro, green onions, cabbage, collards, in addition to all the late season crops.
NORTHERN LIGHTS MUSHROOMS
They will not be at the market for the rest of this season, but wanted to thank all of you for your tremendous support! They will send out e-mails to keep you all posted on the next time they are in Anchorage.
STOCKWELL FARMS
Vern Stockwell has 8or more different kinds of new potatoes; red bliss, German butterballs, Yukon Golds, and lots of others. Also bags of potatoes at great deals! Lots of sweet carrots, leeks, onions and cauliflower. Beautiful dark leafy greens and kale. Interesting jams, jellies, and pickled vegetables too.
ARCTIC CHOICE SEAFOODS
Stop by and stock up on fresh Halibut, Rockfish, Cod, and live Clams and out-of-this-world Oysters. Entice your taste buds with Razor Clam Meat, Salmon Meat, Sockeye, Sablefish and succulent Scallops. And be sure to pick up some Red King Crab legs and of course your favorite sweet Sidestripe and Spot Shrimp.

Mary Jane has a new addition to her awesome selection. Huge cinnamon rolls (with or without raisins) from Europa Bakery. Both have a great cream cheese frosting on top. Who can resist? She will also have her selection of pastries and breads from The French Oven and Slack’s Sugar Shack from Palmer.
